Town of Miami Drive up Small Town Christmas December 12th 2020 5:00 The Town of Miami would like to invite the Community to join us in a night of fun for the Town of Miami Annual Small Town Christmas. Due to the covid-19 pandemic the Town of Miami will host this as a drive up event. The Town will follow all CDC guidelines, Governor’s Order and Mayor Gonzales mask mandate for all volunteers of this event. This event will start at 5:00 and Santa is due to Arrive at 5:15. Cars will be allowed to line up no earlier than 4:00. All participants attending this event are asked to enter from Plaza Ave in front of Bullion Plaza School. There will be signs and arrows guiding vehicles to this event. We ask that you follow the arrows that will be placed in clear view. (Upon arrival to Plaza Ave you will receive a card to fill out to receive your gift/gifts at Veterans Park please bring a pencil or pen as one will not be provided). We have many surprises planned during the drive down Sullivan Street to the main event at Veterans Park. We ask to receive all surprises to include an unwrapped gift at Veterans Park all children must be present. There will be no exceptions. Gifts will be given while supplies last! We encourage you to participate even if you don’t have children.
In order to have a safe event we are asking all residents that reside on Sullivan Street and Plaza Ave to have all vehicles off the roadway from 3:00 until the end of the event. We are asking all vehicles participating in this event to follow the arrows around Live Oak Canyon, Pine Ave, Laurel Ave and Back to Live Oak Canyon. We will only allow 5 vehicles to travel down Sullivan Street at one time. This will allow for Santa and his Elves to prepare your gifts. So please be patient. All vehicles participating in this event will follow as close to the pedestrian sidewalk as possible heading east down Sullivan Street. We will have a second lane to the left for volunteers and emergency vehicles to get to Veterans Park. Vehicles traveling west from the downtown Miami will be asked to limit the usage of this road for the safety of all during this event. We are still looking for volunteers for this event. FREE Nasal Swab Testing - Thursday, December 3rd, Thursday, December 10th & Thursday, December 17th at Canyonlands Healthcare - Globe. 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This will be walk-in testing; no appointment necessary. The test is the nasal swab, not a rapid-test, and results should be back from the lab within three (3) business days. Free testing is limited to those three (3) Thursday afternoons; if you wish to be tested outside of those designated days and hours, an appointment is required and you will be charged for the test. You do not have to be symptomatic, or provide your insurance information.
If you decide to test, and do not have symptoms you do not have to quarantine while awaiting results.
